A taste of the good life at Robertson Quay

You know it's Japanese cuisine,
when even the starters are unexpectedly good:

Didn't expect raw cabbage to be so tasty with lemon and bean sauce. Yums~

Trying grilled puffer fish for my first time!

Tastes like bak kua, though super addictive; especially with the
salmon roe mayonnaise dip:

They specialize with sumiyaki or better known as skewered grilled meat.

"Pick of the day": Set A ($19) and Set D sumiyaki.
Set A: Beef short rib, asparagus rolled with pork, chicken meat ball,
golden mushroom rolled with beef, and pork belly.
Set D: Forgot what's exactly in the menu but there's goose liver (foie gras)!

Giving their self-made honey pomelo drink a shot, pretty smooth on the throat~

"Izakaya" means place of comfort and in the Japanese's term,
Comfort = Alcohol!

Despite me being a teetotaler (picked up this term from hungrygowhere),
this cosy dining bar's not to be missed!

They say: "Women always have room in their stomach
for desserts."

Is that true?
I barely ever have extra room, but I want to indulge in the best of
Robertson quay, so I made space!

I've been wanting to visit Laurent Cafe & Chocolate bar,
having seen the many reviews online and occasionally passing by the nicely decorated cafe:

Actually, what caught my attention was the little blue box that I spotted at the corner the other time.

Their chocolates are wrapped in Tiffany & Co's style boxes!

Select your scoop of ice cream from the wide choices at the bar:

One of their top picks! Chocolate lava cake.
Nothing beats hot chocolate flowing out from a soft and spongy cake,
complimented with a pot of soothing chamomile tea ♥

Never be too old for Disneyland

Woke up early next day and boarded the magical bus
to land of fantasy!

 Read Part I: http://thy-dowager.blogspot.sg/2012/09/disneyland-where-magic-happens.html
Part II: http://thy-dowager.blogspot.sg/2011/01/hongkong-disneyland-part-ii.html

First thing first in the morning, mission: "To fill up my empty tummy!"
High Tea at Corner Café in Main street USA:

Bumped into fellow blogger- who I call "Super mummy".
She can handle and entertain her 3 kids, all at the same time!

Even their afternoon High Tea Set is said to be magical:

It's true.

Full full, ready to roll!

Hitched a ride in Tomorrowland and arrived at "it's a small world"!

Like childhood times, the melody keeps replaying:
"It's a small world after all... it's a small small world!"

Ready to set sail and see what's in store for me!

Absolutely awed by the detailed set up:

After seeing the mini-carousel...

I'm going for the life-sized version!
Nothing is impossible in Disneyland- where your dream is within reach.

Feels like I'm living in a fairy tale.
There are even sparrows flying around freely!

Of course, castles and parades are always the main highlights- like all stories:

The only place where I would get myself balloons, shamelessly LOL

My favorite Disney character from the pioneer batch:

Minnie mouse sticking around me~

I know you've been waiting for this... So was I~
"NEW RIDES IN DISNEYLAND"!!!

First up, to the town where the bears reside ♥
(Grizzly Gulch's newly opened in July 2012 and world exclusive to HK Disneyland!)

The true blue fan of roller coaster rides- yours truly,
is extremely pleased with this new addition:

Much more thrilling!

Finally, the most highly anticipated: "Toy Story Land".
Also recently opened, just last year!

I must admit that I've underestimated the "Toy Soldier Parachute Drop".

Totally didn't expect it to take me by surprise with adrenaline rush during the drop.
It's so harmless looking!

My favorite! The gravity defying ride, "RC racer".

Similar to pirate ship ride, but in a cooler version.
Like racing in the air!

Just met the height requirement:

Power up, testing the hot seat!

Up, up, up we go!
When one round isn't enough, we went 3 times in a row:

After all the fun, it's time to visit the opulent Walt's cafe for dinner!

Looks like where Mickey would take Minnie for a dinner date!
Romantic ambiance suitable for couples ♥

Everything was perfect, except my missing puzzle.

Nobody calls it a night in Disneyland without catching
the breath-taking fireworks.

"You've never been to Disneyland if you did not witness the
outstanding fireworks display." -
It's true.

Fireworks in Disneyland is not just phenomenon,
it's MAGICAL.

I'm enchanted.

This inexplicable feeling is what I would want to relive,
but with my loved one the next time.

I'll be the back. Till then, Disneyland!
