Plastic Surgery Journey V

Day 4 in Korea

If it's your first time reading on my plastic surgery journey,
you might want to refer to my previous post:
 Plastic Surgery Journey IV

So, we woke up early next day to check out the Palace, Gyeongbokgung.
Grabbed these popular custard bread while making our way there, from the subway.
Which of course, only my girlfriend ate them. I only had a little taste of it.
Still couldn't really chew :( After all, it's only the 4th day~

Such advertisement boards are a typical sight in the subway station
(Plastic Surgery's widely advertised in Korea) :

Cold hard metal seats on the train. Hmm...

It didn't take too long before we arrived at our destination:

Follow a free tour guide quickly!
They have tour guides of different languages, to take us tourists around the palace:

Found the most professional one in traditional costume:

I can't comprehend how they managed to tell the time in the past,
but apparently they use this?

Vanity still runs in my blood, despite the temporary bandaged face lol

Exploring- involves a lot of walking and that increases blood circulation!
Doctor says that it aids my recovery process~

The tour guide also told us a little about  大長今, Dae Jang Geum.
She's the first female royal physician of the Joseon Dynasty, who started as a kitchen cook!

Beautiful scenery and weather as we headed towards the National
Folk Museum of Korea, which was included in the ticket!

Meet my clone!
My dress-up with the bandages looks just like this scarecrow:

Sleeping the Korean style:

How fabric is weaved:

Little Hanbok

The making-process of Korean cuisine:

Can you guess what this is?

A placenta chamber! Say what?!
The Koreans regard a baby's placenta to be so precious,
they actually keep it in a chamber and carry out a ceremony to bury it!
Speaking about unique traditions, they believe that it wishes the baby good luck.

Korean's Marriage Ceremony:

There's even a Children Museum just for the kids!

A place catered for young to old~

Meanwhile, here's a closeup on my surgery's progress!

At least I can open my eyes now. Face's still swollen, but feeling slightly less painful.

Leaving the magnificent palace for modern city!

Caught this cutie pie on the way out.
Perfect outfit for the humid weather~

Back to uptown!

Where ice cream machines are everywhere and little interesting snacks
(such as the one below, shaped in poop) are readily available!

But we are in Korea!
Dining at a traditional eatery is a must:

Home-based restaurant that felt super cozy and honest.

Yay to complimentary appetizers~

Everything's great!
My girlfriend's cold noodle was yummy and costs lesser than $10sgd.

Then my long awaited (specially requested) congee arrived...
Mummy told me that protein in egg + fish can help to boost my immune system and aid in recovery.
So those were the ingredients included in my congee!

I teared a little when I took a mouthful.
It's like the first proper meal I had after my surgery.

Made me miss my mum real badly...

She would have been taking good care of me if I were back at home. 还是有妈的感觉最好 :' (

This will suffice for now!

Here's what's coming up in Plastic Surgery Journey IV part 2:
I visited the Hello Kitty Cafe and met Rilakkuma in Korea!

Stay tuned!

Love the photos! : D But you sat at the elders' seats in the subway, which in general is a NO NO here in Korea even though the subway's empty : P

After you fully healed could you feel the places where they cut bone and rearranged stuff in your face? I am considering getting double jaw surgery because I have a very flat face but I don't want to be able to feel the parts where they cut afterwards.
