Marc Newson (1963-) was born in Sydney, Australia.
He is a successful industrial designer who works in aircraft design, product design, furniture design, jewellery, and clothing.
He incorporates a design style known as biomorphism to his various designs.
This style uses smooth flowing lines, translucency, transparency and tends to have an absence of sharp edges.
In 2005, he was selected as one of TIME magazine's 100 most influential people of the year.
In 2007, he completed the cabin design for the 'Sky Jet', an airline/rocketship (by EADS Astrium) planning to take passengers into space from 2012.
Such an inspiration! I’m still in awe by all his achievements thus far!
Thank god Lawrence; stuff magazine’s publisher brought me along to this eye opening event.
It was indeed an honour to be able to see this talented designer up close, together with his creations ♥

Everyone’s so prim and proper, mostly donned in suits and gowns with the hair perfectly done up.
EXCEPT ME, BECAUSE LAW TOLD ME TO COME IN CASUAL! :(

For the better!
At least now I have no qualms about up keeping my image
and I can go about indulging myself with the SPREAD!
It’s CHEESEEEEEEEEEE baby!
Huge range to choose from; goes mad well with the free-flow of drinks!
Blue cheese’s the ultimate sex.

THE SEAFOOD SECTION’s just totally irresistible!
We just stood there and before we could realize it,
the food just kept going into our mouth, spoonful after spoonfuls.
Strawberries stuck onto a watermelon, that resembles a gorgeous bouquet.
Yea, I contributed by plucking out the super fresh and juicy strawberry (My favourite)!
I took none of this. I hate chocolates, though Law exclaimed about the goodness.

Then the much anticipated moment came!
Marc Newson having a casual chat with Rozz:
He’s so down-to-earth and extremely humble about his success.
“If you can just be yourself, then you have to be original because there's no one like you.”
”To create well I have to be in a good mood, happy and cool.”
Marc Newson

It's but a bonus that he’s freaking HOT too!

So yes, his objective here is to bring back his brand “Ikepod” to Singapore!

My choice on the left, Law’s on the right.
I totally adore the classiness/funkiness within the simplicity of his creations.
It’s just so wearable daily and yet eye-catching all at the same time.
Here are the true silent killers (:

Highlight of the day is none other than: “Newson unveils his Hourglass”
The Ikepod Hourglass is a remarkable and luxurious 60 minute counter
made up of high-grade glass with “sand” that consists of carbon or nickel-plated nanoballs.
Below is a GOLD-plated nanoball version:

“So if I design it and then go away, it's still living somewhere and it still exists by itself without me.”
Marc Newson
